2022-05-02 Village Clean-up/Dumpster Day

Village Clean-up/Dumpster Day will take place on Saturday, May 14, from 7:00 am until noon in Chatham Community Park. The Village of Chatham will furnish dumpsters and personnel to assist in unloading material brought to the park by citizens of Chatham only. We ask that everybody enters Community Park at the Park Street entrance (by the tennis/pickleball courts) and proceeds to the drop-off area at the end of Volunteer Drive. I.D. must be shown for proof of address. The following materials will not be accepted; electronics, tires, yard waste, batteries, dirt, computers, televisions, concrete, roofing, railroad ties, paint or any appliance with freon. If the appliance has had the freon removed, we will accept the appliance. If you are at least 65 or handicapped and need assistance with your material, please call the Village office at 483-2451 and your name will be placed on a list for help. Please let us know what material you need to get rid of at the time you call. If you have any questions, please call the Village office at 483-2451.

The Habitat for Humanity Restore Truck will be at the upcoming Chatham Clean Up Day on Saturday, May 14. They will have the a truck there starting about 8:00 a.m. and will be there until noon or when the truck is full. There truck will be near the park entrance on the South Park Avenue side near the tennis courts. Attached is a brochure that includes the items that we can accept by Habitat for Humanity and items that we cannot accept. We look forward to a successful used good collection. Sales of donated goods at the Restore help to build homes for qualified low income residents in Sangamon County. It also keeps usable items out of the landfill. Thanks for letting us be part of your clean-up day.
