Public bodies may hold open or closed meetings by audio or video conference without a physically present quorum under the conditions described below.
Preparing for the Meeting
Disaster Declaration Required
First, the Governor or the Illinois Department of Public Health must make a disaster declaration for all of part of the public body’s jurisdiction related to public health concerns. The recent Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamations related to COVID-19 would satisfy this condition while they are in effect.

Parks & Recreation
Chatham seeks to establish, maintain and enhance the community's park settings and recreational opportunities. In 2010 the Village initiated the first Public Parks and Recreation Commission. An appointed volunteer commission tasked with promoting and encouraging Chatham Parks and Recreation programs.

Recycling Program
All residents and businesses are welcome and encouraged to participate, pick-up days vary by waste hauler. When contracting hauler inquire as to when collection days occur.
The recycle bin can be purchased at the Village Utility Office for a onetime non-refundable fee of $13.00.
Typical recycled items:
- Plastics (must have the #1 or #2 on bottom)
- Metal (aluminum, tin or bimetals)
- Paper (newspaper, junk mail, and chip board like cereal boxes)
