Village President
Term (2021-2025)
Dave was elected as The Village President in April of 2017 after serving the previous four years as a Village Trustee, he also previously served as a Trustee for the Chatham Area Public Library District. Dave moved to Chatham in 2001 with his wife, Tana, after they both graduated from Millikin University. Dave and Tana have two children, Julia and Emma, attending Ball-Chatham schools.
Dave’s career has been rooted in financial management and strategic business and leadership development. Dave is currently the chief financial officer for Johnson Development Company, LLC, a locally owned and operated, multimillion-dollar hotel management and development company – a position he has held since 2002. As CFO, Dave is responsible for the oversight of all accounting and financial reporting for the company’s assets, debt management and financing, the management and leadership development of key employees, coordination and communication with national brand representation, and new management, acquisition and development opportunities for the company. Prior to his work with JDC, Dave began his career as a financial and compliance auditor for the State of Illinois’ Office of the Auditor General. After passing the Uniform Certified Public Accountant exam on his first attempt, Dave quickly rose through the office, to become one of the youngest audit supervisors and contract managers.
