Containers for yard waste may be either a reusable container clearly marked “Yard Waste” or a paper or other biodegradable bag with a capacity not to exceed thirty (30) gallons. The Village’s Contractor will pick up an unlimited-number of containers at curbside. For curbside pickup, all containers shall be placed near the street in front of the residential unit. It shall be the responsibility of each resident to see the containers are placed curbside by 6:00 a.m. on the designated collection days the weeks of Monday May 2nd and Monday May 16th. Curbside refers to that portion of the right-of-way adjacent to paved or traveled roadways. Bags shall only contain leaves and or Grass Clippings. Feces or Garbage will not be picked-up. Nothing herein shall limit residents of the village from disposing of yard waste at their own expense in accordance with their respective waste haulers' rates and procedures.

Village Clean-up/Dumpster Day will take place on Saturday, May 14, from 7:00 am until noon in Chatham Community Park. The Village of Chatham will furnish dumpsters and personnel to assist in unloading material brought to the park by citizens of Chatham only. We ask that everybody enters Community Park at the Park Street entrance (by the tennis/pickleball courts) and proceeds to the drop-off area at the end of Volunteer Drive. I.D. must be shown for proof of address. The following materials will not be accepted; electronics, tires, yard waste, batteries, dirt, computers, televisions, concrete, roofing, railroad ties, paint or any appliance with freon. If the appliance has had the freon removed, we will accept the appliance. If you are at least 65 or handicapped and need assistance with your material, please call the Village office at 483-2451 and your name will be placed on a list for help. Please let us know what material you need to get rid of at the time you call. If you have any questions, please call the Village office at 483-2451.

Please Remove Cars: The Village is asking your assistance in removing all parked vehicles from the streets starting at 3:00 pm today until till noon on Friday. Heavy Snow Forecast: Rain mix changing to snow begins this morning through evening Heaviest accumulations: Four to Six inches are expected this afternoon. Expected Impacts: Power outages possible if we are hit with a large amount of ice and then high winds on top of that. Travel maybe impossible at times due to high winds blowing and drifting snow please be patient.

Please place your Christmas tree at the curb by Monday January 3rd to be picked by our contractor as they go thru town. If you miss having it picked up at that time they will be back thru the town again the first full week of February.

The Contractor hired by the Village to pick up branches will start picking up storm damaged limbs tomorrow 12/15. Put branches out by your curb as soon as possible in order to ensure pick up. The contractor intends to have all debris picked up by 12/24. Do not bring branches to the Village Shop area at this time as we are having that area cleaned up. As always, if you hire a company to clean up your yard, they are not allowed to dump at Village drop area.

We are finished water main flushing for 2021. The entire system was flushed in 2021. We will flush Zone 1 in the Fall of 2022.
