Carl, and his wife Angela, moved to Chatham in 2012 from the Madison, Wisconsin area, though both were born and raised in Illinois. Their four children, Athena, Xander, Xavier and Finn attended Ball-Chatham Schools, the oldest two graduating in 2019 and 2021. Xavier will graduate in 2024 and Finn in 2028. Community service is fundamental in Carl's life. He began volunteering in Chatham from the moment he arrived, as a Cub Scout leader in Chatham Pack 79, eventually serving as Cubmaster. He continues that service today as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 310, a CCFL coach and board member, coaching within CBSI, YBA, SSBA, and now Glenwood High School Football. He's an active volunteer and member of St. Joseph the Worker and volunteers with the Chatham Jaycees. In his professional life, Carl is an IT manager with the State of Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT.)
